Jim Pendergrass has taught online and behind-the-wheel driving at Springfield and Nixa High Schools. During the school year he teaches Physical Education,  Drivers Education at Nixa High School. From 2010-2023, he was the  Head Basketball Coach of the Kickapoo Lady Chiefs with an overall coaching record of 332-101. He guided the Kickapoo Lady Chiefs to the 2016 Class 5 State Championship with a 63-53 win over Kirkwood.  In 2018 and 2022 the team finish 2nd in State and in 2021 had a 3rd place finish.
